Summer EBT will be available in Nevada in September 2024
S-EBT is a Child Nutrition program, for children who lose access to free and reduced-price meals through the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and School Breakfast Program (SBP) during the summer months. Eligible families will receive a one-time payment of $120 in S-EBT benefits for each eligible child beginning September 14, 2024.
Children will be automatically eligible for S-EBT if they were determined eligible for free or reduced-price meals through a meal application, direct certification, or designated homeless, migrant, or foster while attending a school participating in the National School lunch Program or School Breakfast Program during the 2023-2024 school year. School aged (6-18 years old) children receiving the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Medicaid, or Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR) that meet the income limits for S-EBT at any time during the school year, will also be automatically enrolled.
NOTE: S-EBT is different from the temporary COVID related program, P-EBT, many schools provide free or reduced lunch programs to all students, regardless of income, and all students enrolled qualified for P-EBT. Income requirements must be met in order to be eligible for S-EBT.
Children that are not automatically eligible will be allowed to apply for S-EBT. Information on how to apply, eligibility requirements, and frequently asked questions (FAQs)will be available on this website in early July. A dedicated S-EBT customer service phone center will be available to assist families with the application process when applications can be accepted.
