Attention Insurance Companies
Nevada Senate Bill 33 becomes effective on January 1, 2020.
Effective January 1, 2020, each insurer must report claimant information to the Nevada Child Support Enforcement Program within 5 days after opening a tort liability claim for bodily
injury or wrongful death, a worker’s compensation claim or a claim for life insurance benefits.
Insurers must contact either the Child Support Lien Network (CSLN) or the federal Office of Child Support Enforcement (OCSE) to make data reporting arrangements. Both entities offer secure no-cost data reporting options and are approved as the “insurance claim data collection organization” cited in Senate Bill 33. Casualty insurers that report claimant information to the Insurance Services Office (ISO) can simply authorize ISO to relay claimant information to CSLN and/or OCSE.

REQUEST FOR APPLICATION (RFA) FFY 2020 - SNAP EDUCATION
The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education (SNAP-Ed) is a federally funded program that is a combination of educational strategies, accompanied by supporting policy, systems, and environmental interventions demonstrated to facilitate the adoption of food and physical activity choices and other nutrition-related behaviors conducive to the health and well-being of SNAP participants and low-income individuals eligible to receive benefits under SNAP and individuals residing in communities with a significant low-income population. The SNAP-Ed Program goal is to improve the likelihood that Nevadans eligible for SNAP will make healthy food choices within a limited budget and choose physically active lifestyles consistent with the current 2015-2020 Dietary Guidelines for Americans and the USDA food guidance.

The State of Nevada Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Welfare and Supportive Services (DWSS) is seeking applications from qualified non-profit agencies to submit competitive proposals to receive a portion of any available TANF block grant funds. To qualify, the applicant must qualify as a non-profit, and services must focus on helping low-income families or fatherhood initiatives. Selected competitive proposals funded through this TANF block grant must be aligned with the overall mission of the Department and the DWSS as well as with the following purposes of TANF cited in the following RFA document

Long Term Services and Supports include services that:
- support individuals who need ongoing care due to age, physical or intellectual disability or chronic illness; and
- assist an individual or their caregiver, to live as independently as possible in their homes and communities.
Examples include: meals, transportation, chore services, personal care, counseling, respite for caretakers, adult day health care, benefits counseling, home modifications, assistive technology, etc.
