Become a Breastfeeding-Friendly Child Care Provider


The Nevada Breastfeeding-Friendly Child Care Designation recognizes child care providers who actively promote, protect, and support breastfeeding within their programs. This initiative highlights the essential role child care providers play in fostering healthier families and communities.
Participation in this program benefits everyone:

  • For babies: Reduced risk of obesity, type 2 diabetes, asthma, ear infections, diarrhea, vomiting, and Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).
  • For mothers: Lower risk of breast and ovarian cancer, faster postpartum recovery, and enhanced bonding with their child.
  • For Child Care Providers: Improved attendance, healthier children, higher parent satisfaction, and increased public recognition.
  • For communities: Greater breastfeeding rates lead to healthier families and stronger public health outcomes.

    Recognition and Benefits

    Providers who meet the program requirements will receive:

    • A Certificate of Recognition.
    • A “Breastfeeding Welcomed Here” campaign sticker and poster.
    • Inclusion on the statewide campaign website.

      How to Apply

      It's free to apply. Complete the application form and submit it for review. Designations are valid for three years, with the option to reapply upon expiration.
